Only 1 Child?? What Will We Do??

So, Maddox is an only child 2 days a week for 2 hours while Landon is in school. He has never had to entertain himself, so this will be a big adjustment! We will have lots of fun, though, I'm sure!

He wanted his picture taken because Landon did:-)

Riding his bike

Playing with Simba

Helping me with laundry

Making a cave for Simba

Playing with his Batman toy

Sweeping the floor for me:-)

Day #2 of Preschool.....

SUCCESS!!! Landon had a MUCH better day at school on Friday!! Yay! It made the entire day more enjoyable. The first day, I had to stay with him the whole time (which I expected), but Friday I was able to leave. I was so proud of him! As a little reward, we went to the park afterward. Then Landon went to ride with Lance in the combine, which he always loves!

He wanted me to take his picture again before school:-)

A Day With Paetyn

My brother was in need of a babysitter on Friday, so Paetyn came to spend the day at our house! Overall, it was a good day. Paetyn really enjoyed playing with the kids!

He LOVES this car! I think he would play in it all day if I would let him!

Taking his first ride in the combine - Look at all of that corn!!

Watching the corn dump into the semi - so interesting!!

Landon's First Day of Preschool

Today was Landon's first day of preschool. He was very excited all morning (a good sign!). It was not a good day. I'm not even going to talk about it. It can only get better from here. Enough said.

Getting Ready for Preschool:-)

Lance and I took Landon shopping for preschool last night. It was SO fun! He just loved everything we bought him and enjoyed picking things out. This is really the first time he's been excited about school - I hope he keeps this attitude!

As soon as he got up this morning, he put on a new shirt and backpack.

New school supplies

He wanted to wear a new outfit and his backpack when we took Kelsey to school. So cute! I'm glad he's finally excited!

Preparing for Harvest

Lance has been spending a lot of time getting the combine ready, hoping to start harvesting this week. It doesn't seem like it should be time already! The kids were so excited to go see him the other day. They love riding in the combine with daddy!

Little Buddies

Maddox and Landon have really been quite the little buddies since Kelsey has gone back to school. They play so nicely together - I love it!!

It's so much fun to see our kids make friends! Averie, Maddox, and Madisyn playing Hungry, Hungry Hippo:-)

So cute!!

Potty-Training Fun.......

For the past month or so, Maddox has really shown an interest in potty-training. I didn't want to push him because I feel like he's still pretty young (for a boy). Since he is still pretty interested, I don't want to miss my opportunity, so we've decided to begin the potty-training process.....yuck! One of my least-favorite things about being a parent! He's really been wanting a Spider-Man scooter (like Landon's), so I guess we'll try what worked for Landon when he was potty-training. We bought him a Spider-Man scooter. If he goes in the potty, he can have it. If he goes in his diaper, he has to put it in the bathroom and cannot play with it until he goes in the potty again. So far not too bad - we'll see!! Wish us luck!!:-)

Here the boys are helping Lance put together the scooter

Kelsey's First Day of First Grade!!!

Today was the big day! Kelsey's first day of First Grade! She's been so nervous about it, but she was okay this morning. She got a little teary-eyed when we got there, but her teacher (who is soooo awesome!) made her feel right at home. She's going to have a great year!! I'm excited to go get her this afternoon to see how the first day went:-)

Getting Ready for School

Well, I can't believe it's already time again.....school!! Wow - a first-grader and a pre-schooler! Where has the time gone?? I feel like it was just the last day of Kindergarten (which was my last post - oops!) and now here we are again - preparing for the first day of school. This summer went sooooo fast! It was a fun one though. We were outside as much as possible and were able to go swimming several times. My kids actually have little tans (how cute!). I have a few pictures of our summer, but for the majority of the time, our camera was broke:( We finally broke down and bought a new one. SO nice!! Since I have a camera again, I will try to do more blogging. Hopefully things will be slowing down here pretty soon and I can make more time for this!
Last week, we registered Kelsey for first grade. She got Mrs. Chrzan and was sooooo excited! I was pretty excited too, I'm not gonna lie! Lance and I took her school shopping (no boys - we wanted to make the night special for Kelsey), and she came home with more than school supplies/clothes. Kelsey has been begging to get her ears pierced for months. While I was okay with it, Lance took a little more convincing. He finally budged on our shopping trip. Daddy's can't say no to such a cute little girl:-)

Getting ready to get them pierced!

Not so sure anymore.....lol

She was so glad she did it!

It was such a fun night for all of us!! We are looking forward to taking Landon school shopping when the time gets closer. I think he starts the week after Labor Day. And no - there will be no earrings this time!! :-)

Kelsey's Last Day of Kindergarten

Well, I can't believe it, but it's finally here! Kelsey's last day of Kindergarten! I feel like the year went SO fast! I think Kelsey really enjoyed Kindergarten, but I know she is ready to be done. It's such a long year for a 6 year old! We are SO proud of her and everything she accomplished this year!

Today I went up to the school for her awards day. Right before they did their awards program, all the kids in school went out and stood by the highway to watch the motorcycles go by for Memorial Day. It was pretty cool!! At the awards program, Kelsey got an Accelerated Reader award from Mr. Brose, and Mrs. DeWitt gave her an award for a great report card, being an excellent reader, and being kind to everyone. Again, we are SO proud of her!

After awards, I stayed and had lunch with Kelsey and her class. We took a sack lunch and had a picnic outside. What fun! :-) Kelsey has made some great friends at school this year, and I'm sure she's going to miss them this summer! I guess we'll be having a lot of playdates!!
